After painting a small, single columbine, I wanted to paint a group of them. The different circular chambers of the flower are echoed in the gold rings of the composition making it both complex, and compact. I incorporated torn paper into the leafy, green background to layer in texture. Pieces of cut, circular papers both yellow and patterned, are added to the flowers as stamen and pollen. I love how all the elements work together to create a cohesive image. This print is hand embellished with gold paint. The metallics are reflective and add a glittery element to the image. Because of the individual nature of these treatments, there will be some variance in these prints and no two will be identical.
Giclee prints are made with archival materials including lightfast inks and heavy rag stock papers. Prints are shipped unframed in protective sleeves.
