While putting together a print collection for spooky season, I knew I would have to feature marigolds. They’re simply iconic when paired with skulls. After doing a few different species, I wanted to see if there were any others I should include. That’s when I realized I hadn’t done any reptiles yet and knew I should pair my marigolds with a snek.
As it turns out, snakes and marigolds both have approximately 5 million components. Drawing them all nearly broke my brain. How many petals do those giant marigolds have? All of them. Just all the petals. How many ribs does a large snake have? Impossible to know. The up side of all that is that I was free to interpret however I wanted. So I did!
