My mother used to tell me a story about when the Picasso exhibition came to the Minneapolis Institute of Art. I was about 4 and my brother was an infant. She put my brother into an infant backpack and took us down to see the art. She insisted that it was this early exposure to art that shaped my young mind into an artist.
Over the years I studied art at the Minneapolis Institute of Art, the Lola and Rudy Perpich Center for Art Education, Maryland Institute College of Art and The College of St. Catherine. I enjoyed studying art and learning more about it more than anything else. My focus was on painting and portraiture but found many other things I enjoyed such as book arts and traditional hand made pottery.
My love for artwork and creativity has permeated all aspects of my life, including my choice of jobs. I started working in the photographic industry in 1995. I quickly moved on to quality control and production management. I worked for several national companies and developed an expertise in the field of printing and post production services.
I struck out on my own in 2004 and haven't looked back. I love working for myself in this growing field.
